How I Drank My Way To Six-Pack Abs...

I like books that are practical, well researched and fun to read. This book delivers on all counts.

I also like beer and struggle as many middle aged people do against the scourge of belly fat.

As a partner in two fitness businesses, I read a ton of books on health, diet and exercise to stay informed. And most of them are complete fluff. I know first hand that years of research went into this book. Years of research pouring over the mountains of health, diet and exercise related data that has accumulated over the decades. Years of research using themselves and friends as guinea pigs to test their theories. Years of testing and perfecting the delicious recipes for taste and effectiveness. Last and certainly not least, years of accumulating the perfect joke or anecdote for each salient point made in this very entertaining fitness book.

I have never read a book with a blooper reel at the end or a visual teaser of coming attractions a la Marvel movies.

This is not another diet book. It's fun to read, practical, doable and it works. Proof? Now I can have my beer and every now and again take off my shirt and dawn a silly cap for a pose off.

Full disclosure: I am the less hairy member of the posing duo pictured in the introduction of this book. I'm not just a DYC guinea pig, I'm a DYC convert!

Funny way to learn about nutrition and creating a healthy lifestyle (that can be sustained)

I happened to get an advance copy of this book at a good time. I was going to a nutritionist with my wife to learn how to eat more healthy. The things I was learning from the "professionals" was consistent with the things in this book. (Executive summary: eat more veggies and lean protein, eat less process and fried foods). The author does include research, and references to backup their writing.

I actually don't drink a ton, but you can easily substitute Beer for Bread, and the nutrition and health info is exactly the same.

This was an easy read, and a great way to learn about creating a more healthy lifestyle, that is sustainable over the long-term. Particularly, if drinking alcohol is important to your healthy lifestyle (mental health is an important component).

Finally a plan to lose weight without giving up wine!

This book was designed for me-the slightly (some people say they like me fat) overweight upper middle aged man who works out a lot but likes his food and wine too much.

My wife and I have tried several of the recipes and they are really good and also doable.

The book is funny and well written. I think it is making a difference for me.

I highly recommend it.
