Short read but very informative and complete guide to Essential Oils

I've always been interested in natural and alternative cures and when I saw this book being recommended in a blog, I went ahead and bought it. I really loved how detailed the book is. For each every essential oil that is listed, Misty listed the history, benefits and its specific usage in treating a particular ailment and/or improving health. Furthermore, each group of essential oils are targeted for a specific health benefit such as for relaxation, etc. The book also provide instructions as well as the equipment/materials needed to making your own essential oils as well as provide recipes to make hair oil, lotions, potpourri, soaps and creams. Personally I would just buy the necessary essential oils and then follow the recipes provided to make my own cures for aiding relaxation, stress relief and managing ailments.

For those who are interested in learning the basics of essential oils, I wholly recommend this book. I will definitely check out other titles by the Misty.

This book offers a good beginner’s reference to essential oils. She explains what they are, and their history. She then goes on to teach you many of the ways that they can be used in your daily life- from hair care to insomnia and depression supports. Most people don’t realize that natural remedies, like essential oils- are the safest, most effective ways to help you be healthier and happier, get better sleep and have better energy. She then goes on to teach how you can make your own essential oils, with a guide to making your own “diffuser” using a steam-cooker. And the book also provides you with some basic recipe-formulas, to get started. Whether you want to make your own, or just want to have a good resource for using essential oils, this book will get you started on your way.

Misty Jordyn discusses the necessary background information dealing with the use of essential oils through time. Something I have been wondering about is the difference between aromatherapy and essential oils therapy, which is the very first thing this books covers. This was very helpful to me. The book also covers how to use and handle essential oils for dealing with anxiety, stress and depression. Something new to me was the use for pain relief and muscle spasms. This book was a good and easy read packed with information. It is an excellent quick guide for people who are just starting out with essential oils and want to learn more about their uses and applications.
