uplifting and inspiring !!

“Interesting” is the best word that I can think of to describe this book! The author is obviously a very gifted writer with a lot of courage and resolve to be able to share such a personal and traumatic story. It really made me stop and think as well as look at ADD and ADHD in a whole new light. I totally agree with the author’s premise that this (so called) disease does not have to hinder a person’s life. His struggles with ADD really hit home for me as I struggled in the same way as I was growing up. I really love his positive outlook on such things as ADD being a gift for having an expanded sense of creativity. His story is a pleasant mix of a personal struggle saga with humor, awareness, wisdom, and insight. I found myself smiling as I read some of the chapters. The book is beautifully written and I recommend it for both children and adults alike. Each and every sentence in this book will definitely make you feel something and relate… especially if you have ever suffered some form of ADD or ADHD in your life. If you, or someone you know is having issues with ADD, then I think this would be a great book for them to read! It’s definitely well-written and an uplifting and inspiring book!

A Fascinating Look Through The Eyes of a Person With ADD.

My son and daughter both suffer from attention deficit disorder. Sometimes Adderall worked and sometimes it didn't. Certain foods would cause the children to break through the medications. For my son it was orange juice and for my daughter it was apples. I could never really understand what it was like to be them, because they could never explain what it felt to live in their mind. When I bought this book, I knew I had to read it right away. It is filled with all kinds of insights on what it feels like to grow up with ADD. It is funny, thought provoking, and most of all enlightening to those who are not plagued by this disorder. It also gives hope that there is a way to rise above the label and not end up in a dead end job, making very little money, and being unhappy. This book helped me appreciate my wonderful children even more and I am very thankful for that.

I have two children who have been diagnosed with ADD. Reading this book has made me feel hopeful that they can overcome or even use the ADD to their advantage to make their mark on this world. I will definitely recommend this book to my kids. It is a quick and easy read and I believe it will help them in the long run.
